Baby Jacob
Saturday, June 27, 2009, 12:20 AM
My friend Carrie sends random pictures to me of her baby and every time I sit and stare at him...looking at his features and how quickly he is changing even by the week. I still can't believe how babies truly look like both their moms and dads...how that mix happens is a miracle.
I want to post this picture of him because he is SO cute, and he is wearing the little outfit I gave him at her shower.
It says 'I'm what all the buzz is about' It's perfect because as an inside joke, Carrie and I share bzzt things and bees...

Here he is!

Happy Fathers Day!
Friday, June 26, 2009, 11:39 PM
I invited my dad to come out for a visit since I didn't have a Wedding that weekend... we had some things planned, but then it turned out that the weather that Friday and Saturday night consisted of rain and thunderstorms. So I suggested he come out on Sunday instead and stay through Tuesday. This is a huge benefit to having your own business...the schedule! And he's retired so he can come out whenever too!
We had nothing but sunny skies while he was here and it was perfect.
Paninis for lunch on the patio when he got here Sunday afternoon. Signed him up on Facebook while we digested. So funny watching him see all the people he knew on there...and of course telling me all about them. ;)
Dinner on the Erie canal outside under a patio umbrella ... perfect. Watched a movie at home 'Seven Pounds' before bed.
Next morning, a blueberry pancake, scrambled eggs breakfast followed by 'Night at the Museum 2' matinee which he loved...history buff you know. Mini golf which was so much fun...and we ALL got a hole in one at some point during the game. Bob got his at the end and won a free game! Dinner on the water in Charlotte. Ariana's last softball game, coffee at Anna's and bed. Long day but we made it!
Walked along the canal a little bit with dad before he headed out.
Miss you dad ~ thanks so much for making the trip ~ we love you!

Here's dad surfing Facebook

Ariana's game (and in case you're wondering, dad's shirt says: 'London Paris Rome Rochester' :) I found that for him here in town just before he went on a real trip to Paris...and it's funny how it compares those amazing cities with little ol' Rochester...he loves it! )

Last goodbye

Biking with Bob
Friday, June 26, 2009, 11:31 PM
We saw the forecast telling us that it was going to rain for 3 days straight...but on this particular day, it was sunny skies, and perfect temps...

So, we decided to make the most of it and go biking. I worked all morning, and then took off with Bob driving into the city with our bikes on the rack. We had lunch first outside a cafe, then we rode along the Genesee river and through some neighborhoods, and eventually back to the car to head home. What a perfect afternoon...I'm getting too used to Bob being home...it's so great!

Shannon came to town
Friday, June 26, 2009, 10:59 PM
My friend Shannon moved away at the end of 2006 to see what the West had to offer her...she's been doing a lot of different things...one major thing has been volunteering for the Habitat for Humanity. I'm so proud of her and am always excited to hear what she's up to.

I can't believe I haven't seen her for over 2 years! We met up at her favorite Rochester coffee shop, Javas and spent a while catching up. Then we drove around town browsing here and there and eventually met up with Bob for dinner at the Dinosaur BBQ. We spent the entire day together and I still can't believe how fast it went. She hates me taking her picture, but she let me take just one for the whole day...so I took it right in the beginning so we could forget about it ...and it was a Javas so it made it ok ;)

Shannon ~ I missed you again the second I drove away that night and I will continue to miss spending time with you doing the stuff we used to do. Time and distance change our lives, but our memories never fade. Thinking of you.

Meeting up with friends
Friday, June 26, 2009, 10:44 PM
Met up with Jenn and Tressa to exchange the files from our photo shoot posted earlier here on the blog. We talked shop for quite some time as the files copied from our laptops to portable drives. I'm so thankful to know them ...

A friend of mine from the Kodak days keeps in touch with me through Facebook too ~ I have some portraits of her on my website...she's stunning. She left Kodak recently as well to start up a business for herself out in Syracuse. She came to Rochester to go to our Jazz festival. We got in touch and I tried to help her with how I started out...giving her tips and ideas...though I'm not the best example that's for sure; it's a continual learning process.
I wish her all the best and was really happy to see her...it's been too long. Thanks Facebook!

We took the kids to see 'UP' in 3D with their mom Lillian ...that was such a great movie! We all loved it and it was fun watching Dan Dan reach out towards the screen when it seemed like something was coming at him :)

We stopped over to Anna's after the movie to say hi and she was there making pizelles...she had just found the griddle for them so she decided to make a bunch. So cute!

We celebrated Erin's birthday at one of her favorite restaurants...it was all couples which was neat...and there was this one girl that kept staring at me from across the bar before we all sat down. Finally I could tell she leaned over to ask Erin who I was and when she heard my name she yelled over the bar, 'oh my god, you're that Wedding photographer! - we love you!' Apparently I sat with her at one of the guest tables at a Wedding and we were joking around. Small world!

We also had a fellow photographer leave Rochester for a new career path/life in South Carolina. We're keeping in touch on Facebook, but before he left, I threw him a little get together at our usual coffee shop to wish him well.
I brought a pile of magazines, scrapping paper, glue sticks, scissors, and stickers to have all of us compile a collage for him to remember us by. Once we made it, we all signed it...I thought it was a great idea and it was fun to do all together. We'll miss you Josh and can't wait to see all that's in store for you.

p.s., I don't know why the vertical shots are coming in horizontally...grrr...I will try to fix it though. And p.p.s. you can click right on the pictures to enlarge them if you want..
