Engagement Dinner - Thanks Carrie and Jim !
Tuesday, July 10, 2007, 3:44 PM
Our friends Carrie and Jim gave us a gift certificate to an incredible restaurant out in Webster called : Hedges
We went on a beautiful Friday night and welcomed the sunset while we waited for dinner. We walked around the grounds, enjoyed the lake front and each other while we caught up on the week. It was the last day of Bob's vacation too so it was so nice to celebrate both things.
(well, not really celebrating the END of a vacation, but a nice way to bring it to an end I should say)
:)
It was so nice to get dressed up and spend some romantic time together ~ thank you guys for giving us this wonderful opportunity. Dinner was delicious, the atmosphere was so relaxing and we will definitely go back.
It's so great to live right near a lake. We MUST get a boat.
:)
Anyways here's some pix of the place and the view, etc.
I was lazy with the pictures and didn't get a nice shot of the water...oops... but it was right there and glimmering with sun sparkles.
It's back to the grind again but we are so happy to be engaged and planning our Wedding ... and it was so great to have a chance to celebrate it together.
Entries are few and far between ... loaded with work; but if I manage to get out and about, I'll update when I can!

Image City Gallery
Wednesday, July 4, 2007, 11:20 AM
After working a LONG wedding Saturday I asked Bob if he wouldn't mind going to a gallery with me on Sunday...he was happy to; thanks Bob !
I wanted to see the show at Image City Gallery because both photographers at the current show had work from the woods; The Adirondaks and Green Lakes State park (we've camped there and it's beautiful)
I am hoping to get up the courage to submit some work - probably not until November or December though...when Wedding season is over. I asked Bob to take a picture of me in front of some beautiful water images:
When we left, I put my business card on the bulletin board outside...I think it really stands out; I love it!

A Taste of Rochester
Wednesday, July 4, 2007, 11:12 AM
Yay ~ I took a break from working and went out Friday night. We went to A Taste of Rochester downtown with our friends Jim and Susan. We were all excited to do something different. Main st. downtown was closed off and filled with food/vendor tents and a stage for performances.
We tried some new food from a few restaurants we hadn't been to, did some wine tasting; and p.s I love peach wine.
Listened to music, and caught up. Susan keeps trying to convince me to cut my hair in a Bob... is she conspiring with Carrie on the side ??
:)
I know it would look better on me...I just have this thing with cutting my hair...
Anyways..I digress...here's some pix of our evening...just took a few.

This Wedding was SO much fun ~ 8 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen; fun fun fun!
I will probably post some more on here when I'm done editing, but I made a new ad with one of the pictures of the bride ~ such a sweetheart and SO fun to photograph.
Yay balloons! They were ALL over the front yard of their house where they were getting ready...

Sweet Briar
Friday, June 1, 2007, 3:13 PM
So I've started researching possible Wedding locations. I posted a beautiful barn I went to with my mom that I just loved but they only do events through the middle of September and we really would like to have the Wedding in the fall; October. This place I'm posting now is SO beautiful and it accomodates larger parties as well as being an Inn with LOTS of space inside AND out. Beautiful spacious grounds; spacious rooms inside; trees everywhere; quaint and beautifully decorated. Very romantic. It also has a spa which could be fun if we do something there.
You pull up passing through a windy path through the woods and then the Inn is in front of you with grounds off to the left. It's called Sweet Briar located in Geneseo
Here's some pictures:
This is the entryway as you come in
Various rooms inside where people can relax, possibly dancing, and cake cutting
The pool is amazing; it's built to look like it's a waterfall going over the cliff at the end. It's enclosed, but some of the water falls over the side as if falling down the hill behind it.
This is where the bride walks down the aisle...down the stairs and on a path through arborvites coming up to the ceremony site which overlooks the genesee valley
As you go up the steps and through the colums it's enclosed; they do dancing there on the patio and there's a skylight above so you still get some light while being enclosed...I love it
Upstairs common area
Various guest rooms and details:
That's all the pictures I took...you can see details everywhere from the fresh cut flowers to the hand painted walls in the guest rooms and special care about the place.
We're still researching, but I don't think anywhere else will be even close to this but I'll keep you posted .
:)
I'm so excited ! Can you even imagine this place in the fall??? !!
